from 1993 to 1998, Black Eye founder Michel Vrana published some of the coolest
independent comic books in the world. He retired from comics publishing to focus entirely on design
in 1998, and some of his titles were picked up by Drawn & Quarterly, Canada’s premiere
comic book publisher. They became his client and, to this day, Black Eye remains unrivalled as
D&Q’s exclusive outside design consultant.
